January 2020 Campaign Summary – 100cameras

One In An ARMY are proud to bring you the results of our January 2020 campaign, Capture Life With Taehyung, benefiting 100cameras in honour of Taehyung’s birthday!

100cameras is a nonprofit organization that works with kids around the world who have had challenging experiences. They teach them how to process and tell their stories through photography in a way that impacts how they view themselves and their role in their community.

100cameras also provide a platform to for the kids sell their photographs. They give 100% of the proceeds to fund the most pressing needs in the kids’ communities, enabling them to see the impact of their contribution.

In the month of January, 160 ARMY from 28+ countries donated $2,286.25 USD in honour of Taehyung’s birthday. These funds will go to a brand new project in Nairobi, Kenya!

As always, our friends at 100cameras have mailed a letter to Taehyung and Big Hit Entertainment to let them know about all the good work ARMY did with the campaign. We encourage everyone who participated by donating, retweeting, or sharing links to save a copy of the letter. Everyone who participated can share the credit for the praise in that letter!

53.3% of ARMY who voted in Taehyung’s birthday poll voted for a non-profit that supported art and culture. Given Taehyung’s love for photography, 100cameras was a perfect fit.

We had a lot more than 100 cameras in action this month with our non-monetary bonus mission: Capture Life With ARMY.

  • Poster introducing the Bonus Mission Capture Life With ARMY. Each week One In An ARMY gave different prompts and challenged ARMY to share special moments they captured with their cameras.
  • Poster introducing the week 1 theme of Comfort and Love for Capture Life With ARMY. ARMY were asked to posts photos of 1) something that is always better together 2) something or someone that makes you feel comfort 3) someone important to you 4) get creative with the theme and post your own interpretation of it.
  • Poster introducing the week 2 theme of I Purple You for Capture Life With ARMY. The prompts were 1) something meaningful to you that's purple 2) an everyday thing or item that you really love 3) a piece of art you have a specific relationship with 4) get creative with the theme and post your own interpretation of it.

The prompts were 1) an item that you would carry to beautiful places 2) a close-up that showcases a detail you love about an item 3) something that caught your eye that is in an unusual or unexpected place 4) imperfection can be beautiful 5) get creative with the theme and post your own interpretation of it.

We also brought back We Purple Earth for the 48-hour window surrounding Taehyung’s birthday. As voted by ARMY, trees funded during Taehyung’s flash campaign will join Seokjin’s trees in supporting One Tree Planted’s Orca Project which plants trees in the Pacific Northwest of Canada and the USA.
